Graduating from Carnegie Mellon May 1995. University Honors reception.
I recently found some incredible documents from my senior year in college. This blog is the perfect place for me to start posting these notes and thoughts from that formative year. Amongst the stack of materials, was a yellow legal pad on which I scribed a “List of Dreams” that I made for my 21 year old self…
and here are the highlights that really stood out to me looking back at my life some 22 years later…pretty remarkable to see how many have these came to fruition.
I co founded the cutting edge design studio Perception in 2001. Mainly all realized except for the huge facility part.
At Perception we have a library–no computers or electronics allowed–just good old fashioned books to brainstorm. We got our first big break in 2009 on Iron Man 2, and in the last 7 years have worked on almost every Marvel Studios film, and several other blockbusters from other studios.I have met Lou, seen him at Gold’s Gym Venice a few times. Never got very far. But have met and had a great interview with Kenny Johnson the brilliant creator of the show The Incredible HulkIn 1999, I designed the opening titles for the AICP show presented at MoMA to a standing room audience of the advertising world’s elite.Jeremy’s Lonely Watchtower to the Sky was a book my father wrote and illustrated several years back.I’ve spoken at Carnegie Mellon, OTIS, SCAD, and NYUStill working on this one…Bixby “The Bixbinator” came into my life in 2007 and has been my loyal sidekick ever since.
